- Cook 200g of toor dal with drumstick pieces, brinjal, onion, and tomato for 15 minutes.
- Stir in Narchuvai’s Chettinad Sambar Masala (2 tbsp), 30 ml of thick tamarind juice and salt to taste.
- For tempering, heat 2 tbsp of oil, add 2 green chilies,1/4 tbsp of mustard seeds,10 curry leaves, and a pinch of asafetida. Saute the mixture.
- Combine the tempered mixture with the sambar and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with idly, dosa, or rice.
